Need
The pause of Auxiliary Services’ recognition program during the pandemic contributed to lower employee morale and retention. As operations resumed, leaders needed a refreshed approach to recognize staff contributions and align with USC’s cultural values.
Solution
I designed a training storyboard to relaunch the “Catching Our People at Their BEST” initiative, focusing on how leaders can recognize employees in meaningful ways. The session encouraged reflection, aligned with the “Platinum Rule,” and emphasized the business value of recognition.
Results
While the program was in early stages, the training received strong verbal support from leadership. They anticipated positive impacts on motivation and retention. The project deepened my skills in building culture-focused training with a focus on belonging and appreciation.
