Need
Healthcare providers across California were ready to adopt ACE screening, but lacked clear steps and resources to guide implementation. Many teams needed help understanding how to align trauma-informed care with clinical, operational, and cultural goals.
Solution
I contributed to the development of two out of the four-stage implementation guide that outlines practical steps for ACE screening and toxic stress response. The guide supports clinics in preparing their teams, designing workflows, using data systems, and fostering trauma-informed, equitable environments.
Results
Clinics using the guide reported greater clarity and readiness to adopt ACE screening. Many integrated new workflows and tracking systems to support care delivery. The project strengthened my ability to translate implementation science into actionable, user-friendly training resources.
